Little Horse Trail leaves Chicken Point and descends 0.4 miles in an easy-to-moderate hike to reach the trailhead for Chapel Trail. Chapel Trail traverses the base of the Twin Buttes for 0.7 miles until the Chapel of the Holy Cross is reached. Many rock steps are encountered on these trails.

The trail leads to the parking lot for the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This trailhead is very poorly marked and easily missed if coming from the opposite direction.
